My Experience

I have been playing the piano since I was 6 years old. I learnt the traditional way where you learn how to read the music in order to be able to play. I was lucky I had musical parents because they encouraged me to keep going even though it seemed very difficult (and boring lol) sometimes.

When I had my own kids I wanted them to learn piano too but didn’t want them to have to go through the long haul of learning all the notes first and thought that there must be an easier more fun way of learning!

After doing a bit of searching I found Simply Music and fell in love with the whole concept straight away. I spoke to the founder Neil Moore and signed up to be a teacher that day.

Since then I haven’t looked back. I wouldn’t teach the piano any other way. I love the way it gives people access to playing the piano straight away. I also love how it teaches people so many more styles and aspects to music such as learning how to accompany, how to compose as well as how to improvise.

Learn the Piano!

What is Simply Music?

“Simply Music is the largest playing-based music education institution in the world. The revolutionary Simply Music Piano program offers a breakthrough in music education, and has students playing great-sounding contemporary, classical, gospel, blues and accompaniment pieces - immediately - from their very first lessons.” Neil Moore, creator of Simply Music.

How is Simply Music Different to Traditional Methods?

  • The quantity of music you learn

  • The quality of music you immediately learn to play

  • The speed of your progress

  • The ease with which you experience the process

“The Simply Music Method is based on the premise that everyone, without exception, is naturally musical. Traditional methods insist that beginners learn to read music as the means of learning to play. This removes the natural connection between student and instrument and commonly, it removes all the fun, too.

In fact, expecting students to read music before they’ve learned to play is like expecting children to read and spell before they’ve learned to talk.

In stark contrast, Simply Music temporarily delays reading and introduces a revolutionary, “playing-based” approach - a body of unique concepts that unfold directly onto the keyboard, producing unprecedented results. With Simply Music, you experience the pleasure and satisfaction that comes from immediately playing a huge repertoire of great-sounding music.”
